dc.description.abstractThis study examined the effects of socioeconomic status of teachers on teaching quality and job performance in secondary schools in Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State. The sample for the study was drawn from ten out of twenty three (23) schools in the study area. Primary data were used for the study specifically obtained using well-structure questionnaire. One hundred and twenty (120) copies of questionnaires were administered on the respondents and survey data analyzed using descriptive statistics and Chi-square test. Result of the analyses revealed that teachers’ job performance depend on their remuneration and qualifications. Result also showed that teachers' development proficiency is affected due to inadequate funding of the in-service training. The study recommended that government and school administrators should improve the conditions of service of secondary school teachers and regular organizing of the in-service training to enhance job performance.en_US
