    Analysis Of Students’ Interest Towards Quantitative Courses In Business Education: A Case Study Of N. C. E. Students At Adeniran Ogunsanya College Of Education

    This paper examined the behaviour, interest and attitude of N.C.E. students toward the quantitative course in Business Education. A questionnaire containing 12 attitudinal statements relating to mathematics, behaviour and other quantitative courses was designed and administered to the students, Likert Scale, chi-square and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient were used for the analysis. The results show that most students have favourable behaviour towards quantitative courses in Business Education, a Positive relationship between the students' attitude and their performance/achievement in the quantitative courses

    Relationship Between Social Media And Academic Performance Of Business Education Umdergraduate In University Of Lagos

    The study examines analysis of the relationship of social media and academic performance of business education undergraduates in university of Lagos. A descriptive survey design was used with 320 undergraduate students ’ participants in the study. One research question and three hypotheses were tested, a researcher's questionnaire; tagged: ‘Social Media and Undergraduate Academic Performance Questionnaire (SMUAPQ) ’ was used to gather relevant data with the reliability index of 0.78. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to test all the hypotheses al .05 level of significance. Result revealed that there is significant relationship between the use of social media and academic performance of undergraduates. It was recommended among others that universities should build and integrate interactive learning facilities as well as creating a direct link to research databases to make the use of social media relevant to students' academic needs. The study thus further recommends the sensitization of students on the effective utilization of social media for more academic-oriented activities.

    The Relevance of Govemment/Financial Accounting Skills 18 by Business Educators for Effective Teaching of Financial Accounting in Bauchi State Secondary Schools

    The main focus of this paper is to determine Government/Financial Accounting Skills needed by Business educators for effective teaching of financial Accounting in Secondary Schools. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for this study. The population consisted all financial accounting teachers in Bauchi State (228) Government owned public schools. All the population was used for the study. Three research questions guided the study. Structured questionnaire titled Government Accounting Skills Questionnaire (GASQ) developed in five point likert scale was used as instrument for data collection. The instrument was validated by three experts and the reliability was established at 0.72 using Cronbach Alpha Descriptive Statistics. Findings revealed that government/financial accounting skills such as: recording, analyzing, classifying, computing, summarizing, communicating and interpreting are needed for effective teaching of financial accounting in secondary schools. It was recommended among others that accounting professional ethics of honesty et, probity accountability should be imbibed in the students during the course of teaching and learning.

    Students’ Perception And Satisfaction On Entrepreneurial Skills In Business Education Programme In Colleges OfEducation In Lagos State

    The study investigates students ’ perception and satisfaction on entrepreneurial skills in Business Education programme in Colleges of Education in Lagos State. In an attempt to achieve the purpose of this study, three research questions were raised for the study. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study with the population which comprised six hundred and thirty six (636) 300 level Business Education students from the three Colleges of Education in Lagos State. 287 Business Education graduating students were randomly selected from the three Colleges of Education in Lagos State. In Federal College ofEducation (Technical), Akoka, 137Business Education students were sampled, in Adeniran Ogunsanya College ofEducation, Ijanikin, 92 Business Education students were sampled while in Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, 58 Business Education students were sampled giving a total of 287 respondents. The data were analyzed using mean for research questions so as to achieve the objectives ofthe study The findings revealed that, students have good perception of entrepreneurial skills in Business Education ranging from accounting skills, human relation skills, web desig: skills, desktop publishing skills, Microsoft word skills, photocopying, excel/spreadshee: skills, typesetting skills and communication skills which are needed to become successfu. entrepreneurs. However, the findings revealed that, there is need for Business Education Departments to work on acquisition of powerpoint skills, desktop publishing and web design skills because students have low satisfaction in these skills when compared with other skills. The study recommends that, well-equipped Business Education laboratories should be provided in all the Colleges of Education in Lagos State for effective teaching and learning of practical skills leading to entrepreneurial empowerment in Business Education students.

    INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT OF UPPER-BASIC BUSINESS STUDIES STUDENTS IN LAGOS STATE

    This study evaluated the implementation of Business Studies curriculum at the junior secondary school level in Lagos State with a view to identifying the root cause of the problem. Some of the specific objectives were to determine the appropriateness of the curriculum, assess the infrastructure and equipment available in schools, find out the teaching methods used and assess the. entrepreneurial skills students have acquired with which they could create selfemployment. Adopting the descriptive survey research design, Education District II of Lagos State formed the scope of this study. All the Business Studies teachers and students in the District mentioned above served as the population of this study and total sample of four hundred and twenty four (424) Using both stratified to select the eight public upper-basic schools from the population, simple random sampling techniques was used to select four hundred (400) upper-basic Business Studies students as sample for the study while twenty-four (24) Business Studies teachers were also selected randomly as sample for this study. Data collection instruments used were Questionnaire with r=092 reliability coefficient. Checklist and Observation Schedule while Mean, Percentages, Pie-Chart and Bar-Chart statistical tools were used for the analyses. The findings of this study showed that resources available to teacher students at upper basic schools are not adequate, obsolete and malfunction, required skills are not possessed by the students. Most schools lacked adequate facilities and equipment needed for effective teaching and learning of Business Studies. Therefore, necessary and urgent actions must be taken by all the stakeholders involved to provide necessary instructional resources needed for the students’ acquisition of self-employment skills and competences in upper-basic schools for the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ofpoverty eradication and zero hunger in Nigeria
