dc.description.abstractHousing has been acknowledged as the engine of economic growth because of its inherent investment opportunities and the multipliers effect. Unfortunately, Nigeria never explored these opportunities. Past neglects has resulted in a deficit of 8 million housing units, while poverty alleviation measures are merely propaganda. The paper examined the increasing indices and past poverty alleviation measures vis-à-vis housing. Conclusion was drawn with recommendations that toolkits inherent in housing for poverty alleviation.en_US
