Abstract
A descriptive survey design was used in this study. The population covered all the members of staff of
NAFDAC in Lagos State from which fifty (50) staff were sampled for the study through simple random
sampling technique. Structured questionnaire was used to illicit information from the respondents during
working hours. Questionnaires were analyzed using mean and standard deviation to analyze all the items
that answered the research questions. The findings revealed that the NAFDAC Agency often provide
training and development for the staff to enhance their productivity in the organization so as to motivate
them towards working effectively to achieve the Agency’s objectives. This finding agreed with Yusufu
(2000) who stated that training of personnel enhances productivity in the organization. It was revealed that
most of the respondents agreed that government should provide modern facilities and resources for staff
training and development, promotion and salary increment should be provided for staff who have received
training and career development, career prospects in the Agency should be made attractive and achievable
and that opportunity should be given to staff for personal career development.
