dc.description.abstract | The treatise in this paper supported the task of education as a continually relevant enterprise, as well as the societal expectations of its performance -- to help individuals to make sense, think creatively, solve problems, work with others, engage with culture, manage media, communicate, use technologies, apply knowledge and still learn throughout life! Thus, it argued for the synergy between literacy, creativity and lifelong earning using established frameworks such as UNESCO’s Four Pillars of Learning (Delors, 1996); Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)’s Key Competencies for a Successful Life and Well-Functioning Society (2003); Partnerships for the 21st Century Skills (P21)’s Framework for 21st Century Learning (2007), and the Assessment and Teaching of 21st Century Skills (ATC21S) Project (2009). It emphasizes that instructional contexts -- within and outside the classroom should provide the best avenue to activate, concretise and enliven the synergy and suggested some pathways for teachers to follow in developing and promoting lifelong creative literacy among learners. | en_US |
