The need for improved employees' job performance has become universally accepted in the knowledge-based economy. The paper examines the concepts of staff development and job- performance, juxtaposing the relationship between the two concepts; it equally examines the rationale for staff development noting that the demand and or high skilled workers to improve employees' job performance necessitated' staff development.
