The globalizing economy and technological advances has become such a central feature of our students’ lives. Be it using their mobile phones. Surfing the web, emailing friends, or use credit cards the trend for language teachers today is not so much whether we should use technology in teaching but how. The study studied the symbiotic relationship between language and technology and surveyed the communication and language skills required by technology students in higher institutions using a needs analysis questionnaire. Inputs from the questionnaire were profiled to develop a Communication Skills Package for Technology Education (COMSPTED) with focus on oral, non-verbal and written communication, including critical reading and writing, report writing, technology registers and study skills.en_US
