Abstract
One of the noble achievements of man in his dogged determination to satisfy his entertainment needs was the evolution of the film industry at the turn of the nineteenth century. This article examines motion pictures from the angle of producing and directing with special reference to the role of the director. The conclusion here includes that film directors are character molders and problem solvers and that their role is pivotal to the success of any film or television production
