Enhanced remediation of crude oil polluted soil by Glycine max through augmentation of such soil with cow dung was evaluated in this study. The soil was contaminated artificially with 25g, 50g and 75g crude oil. The total petroleum hydrocarbon content, the soil pH, moisture and organic matter contents of the soil were determined. More TPH was lost from soils augmented with cow dung than from the non-augmented soil. The pH, moisture content and organic matter content were more in the augmented soils than from the nonaugmented soil. Significant differences were noticed between the augmented soils and the non-augmented soil (p<0.05, p<0.01, p<0.001). The results obtained in this study show that augmenting crude oil polluted soils with cow dung will enhance remediation and restoration of crude oil polluted soil.en_US
