Abstract
The Study was conducted to investigate the basic requirements for the Successful Implementation of the Universal Basic Education (UBE) Programme from the point of view of School Counsellors and Primary School Teachers. The results obtained using 76 Teachers and 30 Counsellors showed that significant number of both groups agree that adequate funding, increase in the number of professional Teachers, publicity, provision of social amenities in the villages, plan for continuity and good supervision. A significantly higher number of Counsellors more than Teachers would want more Counsellors in Schools. Relevant suggestions were made for implementation by all stakeholders in Education.
