| dc.description.abstract | This article examines the role of the mass media in governance. The conclusion includes that as the constitutionally recognized Fourth Estate of the Realm the media's role in governance is indispensable. The media is expected to play the role of guiding the polity via their surveillance and correlation role so that each arm of government will be accountable to the citizens.
