Abstract
The study was an ortho-pedagogic (study of special education) survey in the University of Lagos. The study was interested in the circumstances surrounding the socio-academic progress of students with disabilities and the preparedness of the Institution to accommodate them. The physically challenge population in the university comprises physically disabled and visually impaired students. The study used the Opinnionnaire to get information from the entire physically challenged population in the university. Measures of central tendency and other descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data gathered. The findings established a significant physically challenged population in the university and also came up with their profile. It is obvious that the university of Lagos could make the learning experience a more pleasant one for the physically challenged by providing more technical support, among others. Suggestions were made in consideration of the fact that in the quest for equity and equal opportunities to be provided for all as stipulated by the practice of adult education and in line with the EFA goals; the physically challenged population must be considered and fully accommodated in the development of the nation.
