Abstract
The paper focuses on the status of the indigenous healthcare delivery system in the post-colonial era among the Yoruba people of Nigeria. The paper explains the practice of the healthcare in the household, community (in both the indigenous setting and the orthodox hospital setting) and its inter-communal use. Furthermore, the paper treats the problems that retarded the practice and growth of this indigenous healthcare delivery. Also discussed is how its practice boosts the economy of the Yoruba society.
