dc.description.abstractIt is my great pleasure to welcome you all to this event which marks the commissioning of two facilities in the Distance Learning Institute. (i) The Water Storage, Treatment and Distribution Facility (ii) The Equal Opportunities E-Resource Centre A brand new water storage treatment and distribution facility was constructed to ensure water security within the premises. This was aimed at providing clean water and improving sanitation. It required a complete restructuring of the whole water supply architecture – activating an unused borehole, changing out the rusted ground and overhead metal tanks, rusted metal pipes, unserviceable pumps and complete renovation of all toilet facilities. We believe that in so doing we have addressed the SDG6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).en_US
