Special Good will message to an icon, a sports loving and excercise friendly 12th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos: Professor Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe FAS
    (2022-11-09) Lesi, A.
PROTOCOLS It gives me great pleasure today the 9thof November 2022, being a date set aside by the entire management staff and member of the University of Lagos Sports Council to honor and appreciate our out-going 1th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos Professor Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe FAS, who by the special grace of God will be stepping up to higher grounds this week as the outgoing Vice- chancellor of our great University. Mr. Vice Chancellor Sir, just like yesterday five years ago November 9th 2017 to be precise, we had this similar opportunity of hosting you and your predecessor, Prof. Rahaman Ade Bello in a novelty match between the university Management and Deans of faculties football teams. It was tagged "R.A.B. walking the vision". Mr. Vice Chancellor sir, it was on record that you scored the only winning goal then for your team and since then you have been winning at every side till date. Today, history is repeating itself in your honor with an organized friendly football match between the University of Lagos Ex-football players and the current UNILAG football-team tagged "O.T.O. Step up". Mr. Vice Chancellor Sir, the legacy you have left in this sporting arena can never be forgotten in many years to come. We thank you for the simultaneous renovation, reconstruction and redesigning of our sporting facilities. Your initiative of keeping the university healthy and physically fit as enshrined in the fortnightly UNILAG Walk for Life, has come to stay and you will always be remembered for this uncommon initiative. Above all sir, it is on record that during your tenure, the University hosted the best NUGA ever organized in the history of such games in Nigeria since inception in1966. Today sir, we are standing on the best football pitch and the best laid tartan track in any University in Nigeria, the commissioning of which will come up at a later date after the lining and marking must have been fully completed by IAAF-certified officials. We hope to see you again at the official commissioning when fully completed. Mr. Vice- Chancellor sir, on behalf of the entire staff and student of this great institution who will be using these sports facilities put in place by you and your management team, we say a very big thank you and wish you well in your future endeavors. Thank you and God bless.
