Abstract
This book chapter examined Teachers’ professionalism as an imperative for a robust teacher education in Nigeria. Teaching has long been accorded a lowly estate and looked upon as an all comers job. This generally affects the public image of teachers and the teaching profession. This book chapter has discussed and put this in the right perspective.
