Abstract
This study is delimited to the role of the mass media in political culture in Nigeria’s emerging democracy. The authors established that governance is not independent of political culture, neither is political culture independent of general culture. The authors concluded that the role of the mass media in political culture and governance is to be the guardian and purveyor of positive cultural heritage of the people.
