Abstract
This paper is a critique oJ the national policy on education in Nigeria (2004). It argued that lack oJ adequate implementation of the polic, [: 'lit government and other stakeholders may have been due to inherent problem ill the policy. The researcher used some methods of philosophy,L which are critical inquiry and conceptual analysis, to analyze the components of the policy. Via these methods, inadequacy of coherence and consistency ill the policy was established. Certain inconsistencies in the policy which make it difficult to act as a workable guide Jor the system of education in Nigeria were exposed. The paper concludes that attempts should be made to work on the inconsistencies in the policy of good implementation.
