Abstract
This paper examines one of the importance of the Qur'an to the humanity in an area of social ethics. It is contended that beyond the spiritual benefit of the Qur'an to people, It also serves humanity in a great immense one of which is highlighted in this paper. The paper throws light on the ethical teaching of the Qur'an in relation to the social welfare of the society. The superiority of the Qur'anic ethics over the modern day secular ethics is also highlighted. The various ethical teaching of the Qur'an are highlighted and discussed with a view of showing how suitable and workable they are in this modern age and modern society. It ultimately submits that the Qur'anic ethics is the most appropriate means of ensuring of social harmony in any given society and there is a need to interprete its application to suit the modern day society.
