Abstract
Housing problem is one of the most significant urban challenges discussed all over the world. This is due to the dire need for shelter and the shortage of accommodation. The available housing units in some cases are not satisfactory as a result of inadequacies which fall short of the expectations of the occupants and result to abandonment and relocation. Satisfaction with housing conditions suggests meeting of these expectations or high degree of congruence in the desired situation. This research therefore aims at investigating the influence of the housing attributes on housing satisfaction. The research areas are residential areas of the selected Local Government headquarters of Ogun state, Nigeria, with 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs). Mixed research approach is adopted, and data were collected through structured questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistical tools were used for the analysis. The study reveals that satisfaction with the housing attributes is influenced by indoor air quality (IAQ), individual space (INS), building privacy (BUP), condition of building materials (CBM) and indoor lightening (INL). The implication of the findings is that the adequacy of any of these attributes housing developers and the professionals should put these attributes into consideration while providing housing for the people.
