I am indeed delighted to welcome you all to the Second University of Lagos International Week with the theme: Universities of the Future. What sort of future do we see for our universities in the next five or ten years is indeed thought provoking. Futures’ thinking in academia is an evolving branch of knowledge and research that focuses on enabling us to anticipate likely future evolutions for better decision making, and improving our anticipatory systems – the tools and methods we use to think systemically about the future – for enhanced resilience and shaping better futures.
