Abstract
The introduction of continuous assessment into our educational system is not just an innovation but a step in the part of progress. This is because the former one slot examination used by educationists in assessing learners' progress is said to be just an ineffective means of assessment but a process that speak little about learners' performance and achievement in the educational system. In its place, the continuous assessment which is a periodic evaluation of learner's performance was introduced. This study therefore evaluated the extent to which continuous assessment has enhanced educational delivery in higher institutions. It revealed that although continuous assessment has positively improved education, content coverage, and effective monitoring, was found to be inadequate. It was suggested that lecturers should ensure that continuous assessment are comprehensive, covering every aspect of the course content for it to be effective.
