dc.description.abstractThe use of one of the Information and Communication Technology tool, can lead to improved student learning and better teaching methods. In Nigeria’s education system, projector usage is unsatisfactory. This paper examined the perceptions of the trainee teachers in two Nigerian institutions of higher learning situated in Lagos State on the use of video projector for teaching and learning of the Igbo language. In an attempt to achieve the purpose of this study, three (3) research questions were formed. The study adopted descriptive survey design. Questionnaire was designed to get their perceptions on the use of video projector, whether they are taught with video projector in their schools, and whether they are trained in the use of video project in teaching of Igbo. The purpose was to find out the lecturers and trainee teachers’ views in training of the trainee teachers on the use of video projector in teaching and learning of the Igbo language. The population comprised nine (9) lecturers and 140 trainee teachers who responded to 20 items of a validated questionnaires respectively, Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage. After analysis, it turned out that there are few teachers trained in the use of video projector, and that they too do not use it in teaching and learning of Igbo
