The thesis of the study includes that civil society and mass media are two societal institutions in pursuits of one goal---- development, but using slightly different approaches and strategies. The conclusion of the study includes that in a society that is civil, there is no doubt that democracy fosters hope which leads to people being actively involved in government and by extension in the development of their country
