This study sets on a good footing the relationship between the establishment of organisation and sustenance of same using marketing public relations (MPR) approaches, strategies, and tactics such as publicity, press agentry, lobbying, promotion, and special events management, community involvement, media relations, financial public relations, research international PR and marketing support services, etc. The study is based on the assertion that MPR approach to solving organizational communication problems is better than the traditional approaches.

The author did a rundown of the history of the mass media in Nigeria and concluded that there is an urgent need for a role change. The belief is that the mass media watchdog role be changed to a guide dog role. This is based on the belief that the watchdog role has not helped build democratic culture which will translate into development.

The effects of the phenomenon on the mass media, mass communicators, mass media owners, and mass media audience were analyzed to arrive at the conclusion that, in the main, Information Communication Technology has been a blessing to mankind.

- ItemOpen AccessGains and Pains of Liberalization of Broadcasting in Nigeria: A Critical Assessment(School of Communication and Information Sciences, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, 2006) Oketunmbi, E.O.Taking a swipe at common misapplications of concepts like deregulation, privatization, and commercialization in describing the contemporary situation of broadcasting in Nigeria, and arguing that the concept of liberalization best describes the current state of that industry in the country, the paper examines the benefits and problems that came in the wake of that epoch. And observing that the merits of liberalization outweigh their demerits, the paper recommends that the NBC should step up its regulatory role. And while calling on broadcast stations to restrict their signals to allotted frequencies, the paper also charges them to accord the greatest priority to educational programmes.

The end product of education among the Yoruba is to make an individual an “omoluabi”. Good character in the real sense among the Yoruba includes respect for old age, morality, honesty, intelligence, respect for custom, and devotion to duties. This article contributed to knowledge by way of stating that the construct omoluwabi be elevated to a high pedestal.

This study traces the emergence of political advertising in Nigeria’s emerging democracy from independence in 1960 till the year 2007. Emphasis was placed more on political advertising in 2007. The study examines the political peculiarities of Nigeria and concludes that political advertising played the role of mobilizing the electorates to vote as well as making the electorates’ conscious of political events
